Deputies say the investigation began following reports of a shooting at Al's Trailer Park, and at least two people sustained gunshot wounds.

Preliminary information indicated that two men fled the area following the shooting, one of whom deputies believed had sustained a gunshot wound during the incident.

Investigators determined that the suspects subsequently carjacked a man, who was shot during the commission of the crime.

The victim's car was stolen as the suspects fled the area.

Louisiana State Police located the carjacking victim and obtained information about the car, which was immediately shared with responding law enforcement agencies.

Detectives with Terrebonne Parish and the Houma Police Department later located the stolen car near Prospect Boulevard, which led to a car pursuit.

The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed the stolen car, and both men were taken into custody.

Multiple victims associated with these incidents have been transported to an out-of-area hospital for medical treatment.

This is an ongoing investigation.

At this time, investigators are working to determine the full sequence of events and all circumstances surrounding these incidents.

The Town of Gramercy issued a notice that the town was experiencing problems with its water supply system and, due to a failed water main, had lost water pressure.

The water main break was reported in the 900 block of N. Airline around 10 a.m.

The boil water advisory will remain in effect until rescinded by the water system.

It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:

• Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one-minute period starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.) Again, please be sure to disinfect your own water before consumption until you have been advised otherwise.

The Town of Gramercy Water System will rescind this boil advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe.

Officers say this happened around 9:58 P.M. at the intersection of Sixth and Freret Streets.

NOPD says they received calls about a man shot.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 23-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the body.

EMS arrived to treat the victim, but he was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators are gathering information and evidence to identify the person(s) responsible for the incident, as well as a motive.

No arrests have been made at this time. No additional details are currently available.

A cold front pushing southward will trigger overnight rain and scattered thunderstorms before ushering in drier air just in time for the back-to-school week.

Overnight Storm Timeline

Sunday is a WDSU First Warning Weather Impact day as heavy rain and storms sweep across Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi

The Weather Prediction Center outlines a level 2 of 4 flood risk across the southshore, representing a higher chance for localized flooding Sunday morning.

While Saturday evening remains mostly dry with lingering humidity from onshore winds, rain chances will steadily increase overnight as the front approaches.

• 4:30 a.m. Sunday: The first scattered showers and isolated downpours will begin reaching parts of the Northshore.
• 7:30 a.m. Sunday: Storms will cross Lake Pontchartrain into the Southshore, pushing through Terrebonne, Lafourche, Orleans and St. Bernard parishes.
• 10:00 a.m. to Afternoon: Rain will transition to lighter, scattered showers into the early afternoon before clearing out completely from north to south by 5 p.m.

Rainfall totals will vary across the area. The Northshore can expect between 0.10 and 0.25 inches of rain, while the Southshore could see between 0.5 inches and 2 inches in areas that experience heavier downpours.

Relief in Time for School

Behind the front, a noticeably drier air mass will take hold. While humidity at the surface will linger slightly, upper-level moisture will plummet, effectively shutting down shower activity for the first half of the workweek.

Rain chances will drop to just 10% Monday through Wednesday, offering clear, sunny conditions for students and parents heading back to school. Morning temperatures on Monday will feel significantly more comfortable, dropping into the low 70s across parts of the Northshore and the upper 70s around Greater New Orleans. Daily high temperatures will stay in the low to mid-90s.

Tropical moisture will gradually return from the Gulf of Mexico toward the end of the week, bringing rain chances back up to 30% Thursday, 40% Friday and 50% by next weekend.
