The LSU Tigers have advanced to the NCAA Men’s College World Series in Omaha for the 20th time in program history.
LSU punched it’s ticket into the sports biggest event by beating the West Virginia University Mountaineers in a best 2-of-3 games Super Regional.
The Tigers took game one on Saturday and beat WVU Sunday in game two to secure the series 2-0.
The final score Sunday was 12-5. Junior right-handed pitcher Anthony Eyanson picked up the win and Head Coach Jay Johnson’s team got clutch his from sophomore shortstop Steve Milan and junior centerfielder Chris Stanfield.
The game was delayed three hours due to the threat of inclement weather in the Baton Rouge area.
LSU will face a familiar foe to open College World Series play. The Tigers will play SEC rival Arkansas. Dates and times of the games in Omaha will be announced on Monday morning.
