Just after midnight on Saturday (June 7), Macklemore‘s Seattle home was burglarized by intruders who bear-sprayed his nanny. The thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, shoes, and luxury watches, all while the Grammy-winning rapper’s three children were sleeping inside the home. The burglars entered through a patio door and maced the nanny who was caring for the children and stole her phone, but she eventually bit one of the criminals and managed to escape to seek help from neighbors and call 911. Police eventually arrived at the scene after the burglars – whose identities were hidden behind face masks, gloves and tactical vests – fled the home. Authorities safely brought Macklemore’s kids, who were unharmed, to the care of another family member. Macklemore was performing in Ireland at the time of the robbery, and has not released an official statement about the incident as of yet. (Billboard)
