The Whitney Plantation will host its third annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival — a full-day celebration centered on culture, community, and the legacy of Black resilience.
The free, family-friendly event features live music, panel discussions, interactive storytelling, and engaging activities for all ages. Visitors can shop a marketplace filled with local Black artists and artisans and enjoy dishes from some of the region’s favorite food trucks.
Festivalgoers are also encouraged to explore the Whitney Plantation itself — the only plantation museum in Louisiana devoted exclusively to the history and legacy of slavery. A free self-guided tour is available through the Whitney Plantation app.
The festival is both a celebration and a call to reflect, inviting the community to honor the journey toward freedom, justice, and healing.
The 3rd annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Whitney Plantation, 5099 Highway 18 in Wallace, Louisiana, on June 14.
