Troop NOLA arrests man accused of stealing a car in the French Quarter and leading police on two pursuits in St. Tammany.
Louisiana State Police say New Orleans Police began investigating a reported carjacking involving a Nissan Rogue early Saturday morning.
According to police, the same car was spotted in Slidell, where it led the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office on a pursuit.
St. Tammany deputies attempted to end the pursuit but the car crashed into a sheriff’s office unit and continued to flee into Orleans Parish.
On Sunday, Troop NOLA spotted the car in Slidell and attempted a traffic stop but the driver refused to stop, leading them on a short pursuit until the car crashed into a State Police unit.
Randy Darby, 46, was arrested and is being charged with resisting an officer, fugitive, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving without a license and taking contraband to and from a penal institution.
