A St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy has gone viral for a moment of compassion during a traffic stop.
According to the sheriff’s office, Deputy Dustin Byers with the 4th District stopped a driver for speeding on Highway 21.
The man was on his way to a funeral and said he was having a tough day. According to the sheriff’s office, the man told Byers he also couldn’t get his tie right.
Byers helped the man with his tie, and a picture of the moment was shared on social media.
The sheriff’s office shared the photo with the following message:
“Reminder: Compassion still exists, even on the side of the road.”
