State Sen. Royce Duplessis announced on social media that he is running for mayor of New Orleans.
He posted this announcement to his social media pages:
“Six months ago, I made the very difficult decision not to run for mayor.
But after continuing to listen to the people of this city, your frustrations, your disappointments, your confusion, and most of all your lack of faith in the future, it became painfully clear that I have to run.
Join me Tuesday, July 1st in Central City at Ashé Powerhouse at 6:00pm as I formally announce my candidacy for Mayor of New Orleans, share more about my decision, and how we will unite and improve this city for the people.”
