Charli XCX and the 1975’s George Daniel got married on Saturday (July 19), in a surprise, intimate ceremony at London’s Hackney Town Hall. The nuptials were attended by a small group of family and friends, which included Charli’s parents and Daniel’s bandmates, minus frontman Matty Healy, who was attending the premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer in Los Angeles with his fiancée, Gabbriette, who stars in the film. Charli and Daniel had been engaged for 19 months, and initially planned to marry in Italy but ultimately opted for a low-key daytime affair instead of a lavish celebration. The musicians first met while collaborating together on No Rome’s “Spinning” in 2021, and the couple began dating in 2022. Charli announced their engagement in November 2023, while she was working with Daniel on what would become her Grammy-winning 2024 album, Brat. (People)
