Jefferson Parish will be opening a cooling center in Marrero for residents impacted by the planned Entergy outage on Sunday.
The Johnny Jacobs Playground will open at 11 a.m. for residents on 4th St. from Jung to
Barataria Boulevard who will be affected by the outage.
According to Entergy, contractors will be performing planned maintenance and reliability upgrades in the area, which includes replacing nine poles in the area.
The improvements are necessary to maintain safe and reliable service to customers.
The outage will begin at 6 a.m. and could last approximately 8 hours.
Johnny Jacobs Playground will remain open for residents in need of a cool place until power is fully restored.
