On Friday (January 2), Jill Scott announced the details of her first album in over a decade, To Whom This May Concern, which is set for release on February 13 via The Orchard. Scott’s sixth studio album will include 19 tracks, featuring high-profile collaborations with J.I.D, Tierra Whack, Ab-Soul, and Too $hort, and production by DJ Premier, Trombone Shorty, and others. Alongside the album announcement, the 53-year-old singer also shared the lead single from the project, “Beautiful People,” which was produced, engineered, and arranged by Om’Mas Keith. The Grammy-winning Philly soul legend expressed gratitude to fans for their patience and said of the project, “It’s a lot of living in this album. It’s a lot of revelation. Musically, it’s a full spectrum.” Scott continues her creative momentum following a 2025 appearance on Abbott Elementary and an upcoming starring role in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again?, which is due out later this year.
