A high-profile New Orleans attorney will stand trial next week in connection with a wide-ranging staged wrecks scheme.
Jason Giles is accused of helping orchestrate staged car crashes and then allegedly filing fraudulent insurance claims in connection with the wrecks.
A graduate of Loyola University Law, Giles made a career predominantly practicing personal injury law.
In 2015, Giles created the King Firm, which is also accused in the scheme.
According to the indictment against him, Giles is accused of using “runners” to funnel car crash victims to his firm.
Those “runners” are also accused of finding “slammers” who would cause the crashes for his firm so he could allegedly file fraudulent insurance claims.
Giles faces one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, two counts of mail fraud, five counts of obstruction of justice, and six counts of witness tampering. His firm also faces the same counts.
He is being represented by former judge and attorney Lynda Van Davis.
