Improper oyster refrigeration allegation led to two Houma residents with citations, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says.
Enforcement agents issued the citations on June 24 in Four League Bay.
Officials say Houma residents Juan Raul Cardenas Calderon and Luis Angel Perez-Macedo were caught violating the oyster sanitation code for refrigeration.
17 sacks of white-tagged oysters for raw consumption not under refrigeration were found, according to the LDWF.
Oysters must be refrigerated at 45 degrees within one hour of harvest. The two men were issued a $950 fine.
