The museum is celebrating four decades of play, imagination and learning Saturday with a free 1980s-inspired birthday party.
The “Party Like It’s 1986” Birthday Bash runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the museum in New Orleans City Park.
A celebration for teenagers will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Activities will include a live DJ and dance floor, lawn games, do-it-yourself name-bead keychains, photo opportunities, and party treats.
The museum has promoted learning through play for 40 years, helping children turn their curiosity into confidence and reach their potential.
The event was made possible by support from the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans.
Admission is free. Families are encouraged to reserve tickets in advance at lcm.org.
The Louisiana Children’s Museum is at 15 Henry Thomas Drive in New Orleans.
