New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno unboxed an Atlanta Falcons jersey after losing a bet to Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens following the Domecoming game between the Saints and the Falcons.
The mayors made a playful wager that the winner of the Domecoming game would send a jersey to the losing mayor to wear.
The Saints lost the game, and Moreno has to wear the Falcons jersey.
“Of course I’m the 63rd mayor of New Orleans, Dirty Birds. Very funny,” Moreno said.
The game carried additional significance as it marked the 20th anniversary of the Saints’ return to the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina, a moment remembered for Steve Gleason’s iconic blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown.
