After weeks without measurable rain, our first decent chance for beneficial rainfall could arrive on Halloween.
Before then, the workweek will stay warm and dry. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, with afternoon highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Overnight lows will fall into the 50s on the Northshore and the upper 50s to lower 60s south of the lake.
Rain chances return Saturday as moisture increases across the area. Right now, this does not look like a complete slop fest. Rainfall totals should generally remain under an inch, but any rain would be welcome after such a long dry stretch.
The biggest question is timing. Showers could move through during the late afternoon and early evening, potentially putting a spooky spin on trick-or-treating plans. It is still too early to know exactly when the rain will begin or how widespread it will be, so keep checking the forecast as Halloween gets closer.
Temperatures will remain warmer than average, so it will be more boo and less brrr. Just keep an umbrella near the candy bowl in case Mother Nature has a trick hiding in her treat bag.
For now, we are casting a no-rain spell: Rain, rain, stay away.
