The early voting location in Elmwood has reopened after an envelope with a suspicious liquid stain was found.
The letter has been removed, and the FBI is investigating the incident.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, an employee at the Joseph S. Yenni Building was handling an envelope and noticed a suspicious liquid stain.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Jefferson Parish Safety and Security Department followed the hazmat protocol and closed the 5th floor of the building, which included the early voting location.
