The East Bank Consolidated Fire Department is on the scene of a two-car accident involving an 18-wheeler.
According to Jefferson Parish fire officials, the trailer of the 18-wheeler flipped into the canal on West Esplanade Avenue and North Labarre.
This portion of West Esplanade is currently closed as officials work to remove the trailer from the canal.
Drivers should use alternate routes.
