The Hondo Rodeo Fest is expected to return to New Orleans in 2027.
The announcement was made live Sunday morning on WDSU during an interview with anchor Aubry Killion.
The three-day, million-dollar rodeo, concert series and street fest at Caesars Superdome wraps up today.
Hondo Rodeo Fest CEO James Trawick also appeared on WDSU. A former professional cowboy, Trawick leads the million-dollar rodeo, concert series and Western-themed street fest. The event aims to raise rodeo’s profile by offering larger payouts, better hospitality for athletes and a stage comparable to major events such as the World Series and the Super Bowl.
Jay Cicero, president and CEO of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, also spoke with WDSU.
