A 21-year-old from Raceland has been arrested for a deadly crash that happened in Terrebonne Parish in March.
Louisiana State Police arrested Michael Boudreaux, 21, of Raceland, for the death of Aljean Ledet, 58, of Chauvin.
Police say the crash happened on March 25 shortly after 6 p.m. on Louisiana Highway 56 and Josie Court in Chauvin.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 2006 Pontiac G6, driven by Boudreaux, was traveling north on LA Hwy. 56 at a high rate of speed.
At the same time, a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Ledet, who was traveling north on LA Hwy. 56 ahead of Boudreaux.
LSP says Boudreaux failed to slow down and struck the rear of the Chevrolet. After the initial impact, the Chevrolet exited the roadway to the right and overturned.
Ledet died at the scene.
A toxicology sample came back indicating that Boudreaux’s blood alcohol level was over the legal limit at the time of the crash.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Boudreaux for vehicular homicide, DWI, reckless operation, no seatbelt, and driving under suspension.
The crash remains under investigation.
