The morning commute for most starts off dry. We’ll see showers and storms arrive by mid to late morning through the evening.
There are a few spotty morning showers in lower portions of LaFourche, Jefferson, and Plaquemines Parishes. Everyone else is starting off quiet with temperatures in the low to upper 70s.
After 9 a.m. storms will begin to bubble up and increase later in the afternoon. The heaviest of the rain will likely arrive with more heating of the day by the middle of the afternoon.
There is a marginal risk for flash flooding, so any storms we see could dump a lot of rain in a short amount of time leading to street flooding.
Highs today will rise to the upper 80s to low 90s, feeling like the upper 90s to low 100s.
Rain fades tonight with lows in the 70s.
We’re expecting more of the same Tuesday and Wednesday. By the time we get to the weekend, rain chances will lessen as a weak upper ridge starts to build. While rain chances go down, our temperatures are likely to go up.
