Tiger fans were pumped moments after LSU baseball won the College World Series.
“We were so excited about the win, it went crazy as soon as that last pitch was thrown,” said Ashley Herbert.
Even in the heat, Sunday afternoon fans packed local sports bars to support the team, while repping their purple and gold.
“We love our team. For Jay Johnson to get his second title in only three years, I mean that’s incredible,” said Matthew Ferguson.
Coach Johnson led the Tigers to an incredible undefeated season.
The team won the final game 5-3, making history again as College World Series Champions.
“I know they went through a lot of hardships, and we just showed everybody that the state of Louisiana is resilient,” said Ashley Duplessis.
As fans across the state celebrate the victory, many say they had no doubt the Tigers would take the win.
“It’s just a sense of pride, like this is just what we’re meant to do,” said Duplessis
