A Northshore native and pitcher for LSU’s national champions has received another accolade after an outstanding season.
Baseball America named Kade Anderson the College Pitcher of the Year.
Anderson is the inaugural winner of the award created by Baseball America magazine to honor the nation’s best college hurler, according to a news release issued by LSU.
He is a product of Madisonville and was also named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2025 College World Series last weekend after leading LSU to its eighth national championship.
He was 2-0 in the CWS with victories over Arkansas and Coastal Carolina, posting a 0.56 ERA while allowing just one run on six hits in 16.0 innings with 17 strikeouts, according to a news release by LSU.
He also pitched the second complete shutout game in LSU’s College World Series history during the first game of the championship series against Coastal Carolina.
Anderson, a 2025 First-Team All-American and All-SEC performer, is also a finalist for the National Pitcher of the Year Award presented by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
