Sunny skies and warm weather are on tap for southeast Louisiana today, but showers could bring a few tricks for Halloween.
Thursday’s highs will reach 78 to 84 degrees.
Tonight will be cooler, with lows of 54 to 57 on the Northshore and 60 to 64 on the Southshore.
Friday brings more clouds, but most outdoor plans should stay dry. Highs will again reach 78 to 84 degrees.
Fire danger remains elevated
Dry grass and low humidity could help fires spread today. Avoid outdoor burning and follow any local burn bans.
Will it rain on Halloween?
Showers and a few thunderstorms could return around midday Saturday or later as more moisture moves into the area. Rain could affect trick-or-treating, so keep an indoor backup plan handy.
The exact timing is still being worked out. Check back for updates before heading out with the kids. A few showers and storms could linger into Sunday.
Watching Election Day
Monday looks mainly dry. By Election Day on Tuesday, another chance for showers and thunderstorms returns, with highs around 80 degrees. The timing will become clearer as we get closer.
A cold front could bring more rain and storms around the middle of next week. We’ll keep watching its timing and strength.
Tropics stay quiet
The National Hurricane Center does not expect tropical development in the Atlantic, Caribbean or Gulf during the next seven days.
