A recall effort against the governor of Louisiana has failed.
Petitioners were unable to reach the legal signature requirements in the recall effort against Gov. Jeff Landry.
The deadline was for Nov. 2, according to the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office.
The petition, filed on May 4, required more than 500,000 handwritten signatures collected in person to move forward.
Organizers of the recall expressed frustration over data centers, election policies including redistricting efforts, and carbon capture projects as their reason behind the effort.
