A Mississippi man was arrested on an attempted second-degree murder charge after a shooting at a residence near Slidell, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
St. Tammany Parish sheriff’s deputies responded shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, to a reported shooting in the 200 block of Military Road.
Investigators said George Goetz, 40, of Waveland, Mississippi, encountered a female acquaintance and another man at the residence. After a brief interaction, Goetz allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the man.
The victim was taken to an area hospital. Goetz was being booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
