On Saturday (July 19), Tyler, the Creator took to social media to announce that his upcoming album, Don’t Tap the Glass, will be released on Monday (July 21). The revelation comes after the Grammy-winning rapper teased fans with hints of a surprise arrival over the past week. At his Brooklyn show on Friday, Tyler confirmed the album title while showcasing an installation of the album cover on stage, and later that night merchandise for the album was revealed on his Golf Wang site, featuring a series of bundles including vinyl, t-shirts, and hats promoting the new record. Don’t Tap the Glass is Tyler’s ninth album, and follows his chart-topping 2024 release, Chromakopia, which featured collaborations with Doechii, Childish Gambino, GloRilla, and Lil Wayne. On Sunday, ahead of the release, Tyler announced a $5 Don’t Tap the Glass listening event planned for that night at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, playfully threatening, “Don’t Come If You Aren’t Going To Dance.” (Variety)
