A New Orleans man was arrested on charges of narcotic and stolen firearms in St. Bernard Parish.
Deputies with St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Vener Young, 65, of New Orleans.
According to deputies, agents initially recovered the drugs and a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber firearm that had been reported by New Orleans police.
A search of Young’s residence led to the discovery of additional evidence, including cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, a Walther handgun, an AR-style rifle and more than $100,000 in cash.
It was also discovered that Young has prior felony convictions for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and resisting an officer.
Young is being charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute MDMA (Ecstasy), possession of marijuana, convicted felon in possession of firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, no blinker and proper equipment.
He is being held without bond.
