Jefferson Parish School System monitoring coronavirus spike

Jefferson Parish Public School officials are addressing safety concerns of students, families and faculty as coronavirus cases surge again.

Jefferson Parish School System officials say amid the surge they will continue to follow Louisiana’s reopening phase along with the Louisiana Department of Health guidelines.

The district is working closely with Ochsner, who is monitoring schools in the system.

School officials said there are no plans to close schools or go virtual again at this time.
