Large 4-alarm fire reported at New Orleans East apartment complex

A large fire broke out at an apartment complex in New Orleans East Wednesday night.

The fire was reported at the Gentilly Ridge Apartments near Downman Road and Chef Menteur Highway.

According to NOFD, four alarms were called in to respond to the fire.

A total of 43 firefighters are on scene with 19 fire units on scene.

There are a total of 104 apartments in the complex with 98 of those apartments occupied.

NOFD said that so far no injuries have been reported in the fire.

According to the NOFD, the fire started at the front of the complex but it has not been determined which unit the fire began in.
